LBL at Kidscreen 2024

Updated: Feb 2

Is today is the last day of January? 2024 is in full force and we have been busy developing series and features co-productions with our fabulous creative partners. We plan to attend Kidscreen this year to continue to develop our co-production and distributor relationships. Here are a few highlights of some exciting projects in the works:

  • In December we launched a co-production with Huminah Huminah Animation (Hot Wheels City, Bubble Guppies, Mike the Knight) for a holiday feature film called "Ornamental" (all ages). It's super top secret but is a story developed by Jeff Rosen, who was a founding creative partner of Wildbrain and now Chief Creative Officer of HHA. Look out for a more formal release on this one in the coming months.

  • We just finished the first draft of a pilot script for "Slim Goodbody" (ages 5-8), which is in partnership with John Burstein and Cookbook Media. We are looking forward to taking it to market this Summer. You can read more about the project here.

  • We co-developed a pilot script for "Kinder Garden" (ages 5-8) with Cosmic Dino, producers of the film "Scarygirl", which we just learned has been nominated for four Australian Academy Awards! We are seeking funding and distribution for the series.

  • We are working with Double Dot Studio on a test for a new series "The Lost King" (ages 6-10) based on the work of Ferdowski's Shahnameh. It's a beautiful story and we are experimenting with a new look that draws from Persian inspired art.

  • We kicked off a new kids comedy audio series "Happily Never After" (ages 5-8) with Erica Rabner and Brian Blake at EB and Flows Studios. The fairy tales we all know and love devolve into "Mad-lib-like" improv. We're working on the pilot script and talent attachments and plan to pitch audio partners April/May.

We look forward to connecting with everyone at Kidscreen and for those of you that cannot attend or would like to learn more about this year's event, please feel free to email me at norman@luminousblue.tv and we can send you our post event write-up.
